The limbic system consists of a number of structures, such as the Fornix, Hippocampus, Cingulate Gyrus, Amygdala, The Parahippocampal Gyrus and parts of the Thalamus/
The Amygdala is the emotion center of the brain. The hippocampus plays an essential role in the formation of new memories and experiences.
