During the Great Die-Up, hundreds of thousands of cattle died on the open ranges from canada to texas. This time period was during the winter of 1886 to 1887 and is also referred to as "The Death's Cattle Round-Up". The period of time completely decimated farmer's cattle stock and is known as one of the harshest winters in the West.
