Point 1 = (x1,y1)=(8,-1)

Point 2= (x2,y2)= (-8,5)

We have to apply the slope formula:

[tex]m=\frac{(y2-y1)}{(x2-x1)}[/tex]

Replace with the coordinates given:

[tex]m=\frac{(5-(-1))}{(-8-8)}=\frac{(5+1)}{(-16)}=\frac{6}{-16}=-\frac{3}{8}[/tex]
