The three ingredients that are used to in a blast furnace to make pig iron are IRON ORE, COKE AND MANGANESE. Pig iron refers to the semi finished product that is produced from iron ore in blast furnace. It contains very high percentage of iron;about 92%, high quantity of carbon and little amount of manganese and some other elements.
