Can you show me how to divided 33 into to two groups so the ratio is 4 to 7 show me all the work

Sure. 

-- One group gets 4 shares, and the other group gets 7 shares,
so both groups all together get  (4 + 7) = 11 shares. 

-- To cut up 33 into 11 shares, there are (33/11) = 3 things in each share.

-- The first group gets 4 shares = (4 x 3) = 12 things

-- The second group gets 7 shares = (7 x 3) = 21 things

Check:

(12 + 21) = 33 . . . . . the whole pot

12 / 21 = 4 / 7 . . . . . the ratio you wanted
